need info on gamefisher 7.5 hp

I acquired a sears gamefisher 7.5 and was wondering if anyone could tell me the year and the company who made this. I also wondered where i can get new and used parts for this. Sears doesn't carry all parts for it. they were not to helpful. they did not even know the year. Any help is greatly appreciated. The model # is 217-585931. the serial #9a-298825.

Welcome to Iboats!<br /><br />Your motor seems to be a 1979. I have had several Sears motors, and am sad to say that parts are rather hard to find. But go ahead and try www.discount-marine-parts.com

Try Sears, they still have quite alot of the parts available. http://www3.sears.com/ Type in the model number but use a period instead of a dash. No spaces.
