he yall this may be the wrong topic for this thread so if so i apologize in advance. could fall under electronics i suppose.
but here goes, i have an older garmin gps 40 hand held gps. still works great and very reliable so i hate to replace it. with that said what i am looking for is the interface cable that connects it to 12v dc and/or my radio for DSC. i have the plug that connects to that cable then plugs into my radio but with the garmin being so old the interface cable is obsolete. i have scoured ebay and all other electronics sites, i have even visited the garmin site. i would post a pic of the plug on the back of the gps but its in my boat 100 miles away. does anyone happen to have maybe one of these cables lying around from their old (broken) garmin? its a round type plug with 4 small pins that has i believe a brown, red, black and unsure what the 4th wire color is. i have found out that some of these cables offered just the 2 wires for the DSC connector and some had 4 so that you could connect to the radio and a 12v dc connection to eliminate using the 4 aa batteries in the gps unit. there were different models that would interchange but cant find the list now. ANY help/info would be greatly appreciated.
