I just recently purchased a small outboard motor. I am trying to find out anything I can about it. It is manufactured by the Eska Company. The model# is 1161. The serial# is 55405. I have been told it is a 1967 Golden Jet 3hp. If this is true, I can't find out any info on it. Does anybody know of a link on the web I can go to and research this motor or even get a repair manual? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. I have searched, googled, ask, and anything else you could think of to find info on it. Thank you for your time and any help you give me. Kevin440Mag

The best source for Eska stuff is www.certifiedpartscorp.com. They bought the entire stock of Eska parts when the company quit. They have manuals, parts lists, and most parts for these outboards.

Their web site, however, doesn't have a lot on it. You have to call the number on the site. Have your model and serial number at hand when you call. I've bought stuff from them several times.

You're right on with the ID of your motor. Another resource for info and parts is www.discount-marine-parts.com

1161 uses an air cooled V51 Tecumseh power head and a water cooled leg.
I believe the leg uses a pickup tube near the propeller using prop wash to push water into the leg to cool the exhaust gases.no pump is used on 67 and older motors.5.1 cu in 3hp J4C champion plug set at .030..017-.023 point gap.16:1 fuel mix.use tcw3 rated oil.Outboard gear lube in the gearcase.
