Need Info on Stevens boat Co.

I recently purchased a 16' 1970 Stevens fiberglass boat. It was made in Gardena California, and that is about all that I know about it. A web search turned up nothing as far as history about the company or anything like that. Does anyone have any information on this great little boat? Here are a couple of "before" pictures:







Originally it was painted a metal flake blue and white. Currently I'm working on getting the interior redone, new gauges, and the fuel tanks cleaned out since they are full of fuel varnish. Any help would be appreciated as far as company info. Thanks!

Nice looking project. Sorry I don't have any info on Stevens Boats. There was a posting here that gave a link to boat manufacturers and there current status. I'll do some looking and see if I can find it. Keep us posted with pics of your progress

Not sure if this is the correct company...looks like it might be.<br /><br /> USCG MFG's hull codes

Looked promising, but the time frame is incorrect, since it looks like it was started in the mid 80's, yet mine is from 1970. Also, the city is different.<br /><br />Yes, the boat is a good easy project. Should be a good runner. One interesting thing about it is that it has a keel skeg about 2 feet from the transom that should aid in fast turns. Havent seen that on an outboard before. Should be pretty fun!

Sorry to say that their is no information availabe. Mary Ellen Stevens recently passed away with Mack Edward Stevens, the owner of Stevens Boats, will soon pass away. Thank you for your inquiry and blessings in this Christmas Season.
