Does anyone know about Reinell boats?

My friend has an 84 Bayliner capri open bow with a small outboard. The boat is 16 feet. He currently has it up for sale and a guy called about it and said he would trade him straight across for a 1978 21foot Reinell cuddy cabin with a 470 4 cylinder I/O. What is the concesus here? Thank you in advance.

Ayuh,.... It's the worst motor ever for Mercruiser, 'n it's been abandoned...

Little to No parts are available New, so used is all ya get...

They've been badmouthed enough, you'll be readin' for Days, maybe Weeks...

Nothin' wrong with Reinells, but a '78 is also probably Rotten...

As bad as the '84 Bayliner might be, the prognosis for the older Reinells with a 470 is even worse.
