Can these be bought somewhere? they are not in any parts lists that i have found. I am figuring at this point i am going to just need to pick up 2 carbs with good main jets.
You should be able to get the part number from www.shop2.evinrude.com . Once you get the part number I'd bet that boats.net has them. I've recently had to get carb jets and they had everything I was looking for.
First off, is that engine a 1986? If so here's the diagram from the BRP site (basically the same as ishopmarine). The "main jet" is item number 19, for a 40 hp it's a 38D part number 0328525. Boats.net will have that also.
