Need more info on Nissan 5hp

I just picked up a Nissan 5hp long shaft 2 stroke and am looking for more info on it. Like what fuel to oil ratio I need to use for best and long lasting performance. Also the motor has a built in tank. I do see on the front there looks to be a hole where you would run a tube from an external gas tank too. Is this correct?? If so what type of tank does it use? Would it use a pressure tank or what?

Also and most importantly;

The last kicker motor I had burned out due to carbon build up. I was told that because I only ran the motor and low speeds that the carbon built up so much that the motor stopped working. I was told after that before shutting the motor off I should always run in WOT for a fee minutes to get the carbon out. Can anyone speak to this and help me to avoid the same mistake twice?

Oil....TCW3 outboard oil at a 50:1 ratio. I use Wal Mart oil.
Yes that hole in the front is for an external fuel tank. Buy a Nissan fuel fitting for the outboard and you can go with any generic fuel line/ bulb / gas tank you want. You can buy everything for a fair price off this site.
Carbon will build up at slow speeds. Most guys buy a can of Sea Foam at Napa and decarb their motors once a year or so. Instructions are on the can.

I don't know which connector your outboard takes or if its even listed. Call iboats and give them your model # or you can go down to your local boat dealer and see if they stock it.

And definitely use the external tank, as the onboard one doesn't hold a lot of fuel. They're good little motors. I've got the 4 stroke version and it's pretty dang reliable and plenty strong for what it is.

Thank you for all the info. Anyone mind telling me how much oil I need to put in? I know it's 50:1 and a 1/2gal tank but not sure what that equates to.
