Does anyone have any information on where I can get the same exact axle as I had before? It’s a 1997 Spartan Supreme. I have the vin number for the trailer but can’t seem to find the exact one I need so I can bolt it on and be done.

Don't know where you can just look up the trailer and find axle part number.
Get the dimensions and find one that way

This is the thought that comes to my mind, too.

I've used etrailer.com for parts, and they do offer replacement axles.

They also have an extensive list of help subjects for trailers on this page: etrailer axle help page

They also have a chat feature that I've used for other subjects.

When I replaced mine, I had to match it as close as I could, a few minor mods were needed, but that is all.

Eastern Marine in DE has quite a selection of trailer parts. They list exact matches for the more common trailer brands. If your trailer is not in that list, just match the capacity and length to your current axel.

There's a few things I would add to that list. Like spring or torsion axle, distance between springs, spring location above or under axle, brakes/no brakes, etc. The devil is in the details. There are several places, including Dexter axle themselves, that will walk you through what you need to know to get a simple drop in replacement axle.
