here's the scope
Ia issue where it seemed the LU was slipping and thought it was prop I had new prop so put it on and no slip... the next time I went out after that it slipped with hardly a load so I thought maybe I needed to re torque the new prop so I did to 65lb and went out and it seemed great so the next trip it did the slipping again:mad:
Well have family in for vacation so bought one from a mech locally.. had to situation
Then I drained old Lu and here are picks of what I found so you all know I had changed oil a month previously and impeller and oil did not look this pic but.. there was some metal and thought it was normal wear on a older unit but guess we were lucky to get back to the ramp:eek:

Any thoughts or suggestion would be great Thanks

That's not normal but I think you know that. Take the L/U in and have it rebuilt.

I had the same kind of debris on the magnetic plug from my lower unit.

I just finished rebuilding it and will be installing it later this week. My troubles turned out to be badly worn clutchdog and reverse gear dogs. The cause of this I believe was a worn shift cam which prevented the gears from fully engaging.

Good luck with your unit.
