I can't afford to make a mistake so honesty would be appreciated. Had a 86 bow rider that now has a cracked head (wife swears it was done on purpose hehe) and am loking to get into something bigger and better. Found a 1998 proline 251 walkaround loaded and in great shape. Has a i/o 5.7 250 with 435 on it. It's perfect for me to fish and the wife who wants the foo foo stuff like a toilet. Guy can't afford it and wants to sell for what is owed...$15k. Lookin around them can go for an avg of say $23. Seems to only be missing outriggers. Has hardtop and all other "stuff" like livewell etc. so what ya think. Having the engine check out tomrow.

Thanks
Joe!!!

it does sound sweet. im thinkin though the only turn off to a hard core fisherman is the I/O. dont get me wrong, i love that setup. just sayin price wise i would imagine the boats like that fetchin more than 20 grand probably have twin outboards. no? check these out. in the iboats classifieds.

I get the twin outboards, but coming froma 19ft bow rider with a i/o...going to a 27ft with an i/o I won't know what to do with alll the xtra space. Won't I get better gas on the i/o than twins anyway....thanks for the replies!!

100 hrs. per season is very average, I put on at least 120 to 150 per season,my boat has slightly over 2300 total , still structuraly sound. an I/O should be good for at least 1500 hours if it is serviced properly, if the boat checks out ok buy it and happy boating:)
