Hi everyone, having a little problem and would like to tap the knowledge of the best boating site on the web!
I have a 1995 120 HP Force outboard and have found water in the lower unit! When the motor has been tilted up for a while in the yard, I notice a drip of oil coming from the plate between the lower unit and prop. I have tightened the 2 nuts holding this plate on, but it still leaks. I cannot find this plate or gasket in my owner's manual. I think if I replace the gasket it will solve my problem, but I do not know what the plate is called. If anyone knows, I would appreciate passing it on to me! Also, am I correct in thinking this gasket being replaced will solve my problem? I think some fishing line may have gotten between the gasket and plate.
Thanks a lot, I need to get this fixed because I'm dying to go out fishing!

Is what you are describing in this illustration or is it higher up in the lower unit?

Unless you have a L drive you posted the wrong information. All 1995 120 HP force motors that are not L drive are the one shown above.
