I have just aquired a 6 HP Johnson outborad and I need a few simple parts. Any idea what year motor it is and where I can locate some parts? (eg-Shifter handle and choke arm). I was told that it uses 40:1 oil ratio. Is this right? TIA.

Model#CD-24D
Serial#J2721660

Hi TBFH,
Motor is a 1967.
I would run that on 32:1.
The parts you require are available thru any OMC dealer.
Not sure on your model but on many of the smaller vintage models, you had to remove the powerhead to change the shifter handle. Not difficult but
I would have a manual handy.
Good luck

Thanks MG, I sure appreciate the info. I haven't put it in the water yet mainly because of the need for the correct fuel mixture. I sure didn't expect it to run on 32:1, but that's why I leaned on you. Thanks again. Take care.

TBFH
