Need parts for 1960 Sea King (OMC)

I have a 1960 Sea King (Model #GG8822A, equivelant to 5D17B Gale Buccaneer) 5 hp Deluxe outboard. Where can I find parts for the lower unit, i.e. shifter dog clutch assembly, front gear assembly, lower unit seal etc.?

Hello kdc 2000<br /> The shift dog and L/U seals should be fairly easy to come by. As far as that forward gear, that may be another story. I am thinking your motor is the same as the 5.5 johnson/evin. Sometime when serching for older parts you have to be kind of sneeky. If you need a part for a 1955 model, and they still used that same part in 1965, ask for the 65. Its usualy best to use part #s if you can. No 18 year young parts man worth his salt would have a part for somthing that old in his inventory. Hec there aint no sence in even lookin. Nope aint got nothin fer a 1960, but I got tons of stuff fer a 1972. (same part). If it were me and I needed that gear I think I would scrounge around for a complete L/U. You may have to reseal it also, but I think you'll be money ahead. I don't have actual part #s for Gale or the OMC Sea King. But if you will post your e-mail address I will try to send you the Johnson/evin #s for the 5.5. Good luck

KDC.... Unfortunately my old Gale etc books only go up to 1957 (5D14). However, I find that for that year, I do have the Shifter Dog and the Prop Shaft Seal if that will help you any. I do not have the forward gear. You don't say which seal you need.... that info would help. The original and superceeded part numbers and prices of what I have follows:<br /><br />Dog - 376078 = 333518 = List $76 = Sell $40.00.<br /><br />P/S Seal - 303345 = List $15 = Sell $9.00.<br /><br />(I do not have this item.
