Hi All I just bought a 92 Nissan 9.9 and I need a new prop, I have a 14 ft Jon boat and propaly wieghs 150 pounds without the motor I usually fish with a friend and I wiegh 170 and he's like 150 , the motor is probably another 100 pounds it's heavy, so that's golly thats like 570 pounds everything loaded , and of course like everyone else I want to go the highest top speed I can. Anyone have any good prop size and pitch suggestions , 4 or 3 blade I read up on them but I think it's best to just ask someone with expierence. Ty!

If I had to guess it would be a 8.5 or 9".It would be better if you could get us the present rpm and gps speed.
gps speed at the least.
The size of your prop may be under the prop nut or near the baser of the blades.

I don't know the speed I haven't used it yet , I took off the prop and it must be the factory original because there's no numbers on it anywhere I looked at for like 10 minutes and couldn't find any

Re: Need prop advice 9.9 Nissan

From Nissan:

Light load=100-500lbs=9 or 10 pitch.
Moderate load=500-1000lbs=8 pitch.
Heavy load=1500-3000lbs=7 pitch.

Check out the prop section and get yourself one of those nifty Solas props.
