I currently run through the hub props on my Skeeter Bass Boat. They range from 14 1/4" x 24p to 14 3/4" x 27p depending on the load and so forth. My question is this, I am wanting to try an over the hub exhaust chopper prop, do I need to go up or down in pitch or stay the same. I have a line on a 26 pitch Mazco if I can use the same size...

Thanks,
Wayne

Re: Need Prop Help

Well its hard to say until you try, but choppers are designed to run piercing the waters surface, so you need to trim high or have a jackplate to make it worthwhile, also lower water pickups may be required, chopper props are usaully hard to get rid of because they have a limited application, so see if you can try it before you buy it.

You won't have any problem selling the Mazco if it doesn't work for ya.
You do need to run a higher engine height, but positive trim requirements will be less...we don't want to use trim to get the prop to surface.
