Does anyone have a recommendation on a good portable 6 gallon tank that holds up well and doesn't leak? Not happy with these Atwood tanks I have.

Yup, me too. Especially when they're equipped with a new "old style" gas cap that vents like it's supposed to - without turning the gas tank into what appears like a big red watermelon.

The only other option is surfing Ebay and Craig's List for some older metal tanks if you don't like watermelon tanks. All plastic tanks bulge, the EPA or older vented tanks with a closed vent.

I have run a Yamaha tank for years, can probably be had on Ebay.

Just run a Yamaha hose fitting on the tank end and whatever engine you have on the other.

I ended up buying two new moeller tanks and I also purchased at the same time two new gas caps with the manual vent. Hopefully this works out. Thanks again.

Got my new moeller tanks today and I'm happy to note that they came with caps with the manual vents. Very happy with that!

They may appear to be manual vents, but I'd be surprised if they actually are. Don't be disappointed.....

Boat ran great on the new Moeller tanks. But.... I see what you're referring to now on the venting of pressure. If the tank sits in the sun and builds up pressure, their new gas cap doesn't vent it out. Here's what I noticed. The vent screw is spring loaded. If you unscrew it, it pops all of the way up blocking the vent. If you push it half way down, the pressure is released. Here's my question, has anyone removed the spring? I'd be willing to bet that would fix it.
