I broke my shaft OMC# 0912387

Anyone know of any around? It seems to be available new, but perhaps someone has one for sale for less than $370? Thanks

I doubt you will find a used one unless you buy a used lower gear case..
Either way it will not be cheap..

r u talking the prop shaft.i just bought one for a 93 cobra and its to big diameter.

Yeah.

You're talking about #35 below.... OMC# 0912387 "DRIVESHAFT-LOWER"

It's unique to the 87, 88, 89 Dog-Clutch King Cobra. Doesn't fit any other Cobra model.

Consider yourself lucky if you can buy one at ANY price......And hope you don't have to replace anything else in there!


I know at this point is really doesn't matter but how did you break it (without breaking something else)?


This is a really good time to start considering alternatives I suppose.....

I did an impeller replacement on a 93 King the other week..
The only one we could find was an OEM kit out of Washington state...200 bucks!

Man they are proud of those King Cobra parts...

Well,

A 93 King Cobra is nothing like an 87-89 King Cobra.

I bought a complete transom service kit from Ebasicpower (GLM) and a raw water pump kit from NAPA AutoParts (Sierra) For my 87 460 King Cobra.

The problem comes when you try to get something for it that is simply no longer manufactured. That may be the case with that drive shaft. It may have to come ("NOS" if you're VERY lucky) from a dealer going out of business or a "parts" drive.

Ok I found one.. Ishopmarine.com had one for a fair price

The next question is.. how do you install the needle bearings while installing the lower shaft without losing them?!?!
