In the process of attempting to change the water impeller forgot the "one more bolt" and wound up knocking the rear end off of the cavitation plate. The zinc anode still has a good seat but I want to know what problems can come about if I take the boat out tomorrow? Can it cause the lower unit to run hotter? I have trim tabs .This is a 250hp yammy 2 stroke. thanks.....bernie

Yup. What Justintime said, with a quibble on terminology.

The correct term for the plate is "anti ventilation plate" and what you would get is ventilation, the prop grabbing air and overrevving in the foam.

I would put a small hydrofoil on it if it will "seal" the opening left by the breakoff.
