I have a 25 foot cabin cruiser. The floor in the cabin was a bit weak, so I cut it out to replace it an epoxy and glass a new floor in. I checked out the stringer and found that it wasnt sealed at the front and there were a few holes in it where someone had drove screws through. I chipped away a chunk of the fiberglass in the middle of it and the stinger was wet. Not sure how deep it goes, but I dont think the rot goes all the way to the bottom. Any suggestion on the best way to fix it? Should I just cut the glass off the top of it, scrape down to good wood, then scab in a new piece, and then epoxy and glass everything back to the shape it was? There is a ton of other support being that it is a cabin cruiser and the hull is 2" thick at that point.
