Some guy at my work was cleaning out his shed and came across a 9.8 Mercury that he had in storage and forgot everything about. Well, he brought it in to work and didn't want any part of it, he handed it over to me, I guess his boating days were over.<br />Anyway, it looked like it hadn't been in the water for a long time. I cleaned out the carbs, added new plugs, changed out the lower unit oil, replaced all the fuel lines, etc. I primed her up with new fuel and pulled the cord...low and behold, she purred like a kitty-cat. <br />I know someone who is interested in buying it, but I don't have any information about the engine, the serial number is 6402905, and it's a 9.8 Mercury. Can someone please look up the year of this engine and give me a good starting price for the motor. <br />Thank you very much for your help!
