Nice boat and a good project.

I would get to the back of that bow eye and see if you can add a backing plate to the bow eye, remove the eye and epoxy/glass the backing plate in, and then reinstall the eye and epoxy it in good.

What a great story and restoration! I truely hope thatyou keep the pictures coming, your efforts are making your grandfather proud I am sure. I really can't wait to see some finished pictures! Keep it up man

GET A NEW TRAILER!! That pile of rust is just waiting to crush something. Nice job though. I wouldn't get near that boat with it on that trailer. Is that a car stand holding it up?

Thanks for all the good coments guys. Its cool being able to share pics and talk to people who can apprieciate and understand what it takes to restore a boat. The prep work is very tedious and time consuming but It looks like its gonna be worth it. For the repairs I sanded down to the glass about 2 inches all the way around the holes. Then I cleaned the areas with acetone and then applyed two layers of glass and epoxied them in. Then when it set I sanded it down smooth. For all of the small dings and scrathes on the hull I used Marine-tex "good stuff". I will definitly be putting up new pics as soon as I get the paint done. Oh yeah and the trailer is a pile of rust. It scares me too, and yes that is a car stand that is helping to support it the tire need to be filled, possibly replaced. Looking into finding a new or used trailer. If anyone knows any good places to look besides e-bay please let me know. Thanks again guys, talk to you soon. CHEERS

Marinas often sell trailers. Or do what I did and build your own.
