i have a 1992 180 nitro fs - one of the ski hooks which is connected to the transom has been pulled loose by previous owner- it is u shaped - with the open part of the u going through the transom -the open part of the u becomes threaded bolts which are connected inside the transom with 2 nuts - problem is the nuts on the u hook are completely rusted as the po didnt use ss or galvenized nuts- they are in a very tight space and torqueing with all my strenghth will not budge them with a cresent or ratchet- i wonder if any of you know of a product or anything that will make them easier to remove - again the nuts are so corroded that they have completely rust welded themselves to the bolts - i have to get these off in order to drill new holes for a new hook as the hole is so wallowed out that the area maybe weak as i was told by a friend who knows boats- im a newbie- thanks for any ideas and input:D

Heat them up with a propane torch and then spray PB blaster or your favorite lube on the threads. As they cool it draws the lube into the nut.

Have you considered using a Sawz-All or cutoff wheel on the "U" on the outside? Cut through and push the remainder through the transom. Just be careful and protect the gelcoat!

Dang- you beat me by a minute. I was going to suggest a cut-off tool- buzz off the round part and push them through. Great minds think alike!
