Need Some Help With 70HP Evinrude

I got 1986 70 HP Evinrude that dies when i shift forward but idle fine and reverse fine , When i shift to shoot of the hole it dies unless i slam it in full throttle it goes but some time it get a hiccup and die, When it goes I can back off the throttle then i will stay running around 3k RPM then I can go back to WOT ok but it seems like it will die below 3k .

Carbs been rebuilt 3 days ago there is no Needle valve slow speed that i saw when i took the carbs out i was told some don?t have it . Float was set to ?? like the kit say Am using external 6 gal tank w fresh gas, No fuel leak or crack?s in the fuel line .. ... ThaNKS

In this order check:

Compression

Fuel delivery

Spark

Could be dropping a cylinder......

Dont spend money till you verify the above are in good order.

Compression was checked good for all 3 Cylinders

Am using 6 GAl external tank, Had fuel leak but took care of it as it was loose house. VRO PUMP is good i also premix

Spark checked ok and see blue arch when i pull the plugs

Drooping a cylinder came to mind but if she droop one what?s the reason and how is it possible it run good @ high RPM's ..?

Dropping a cylinder came to mind but if she drop one what?s the reason and how is it possible it run good @ high RPM's ..?

Use spark tester @7/16" to test for strong spark and clean all ground wire points. Also look over your timing & throttle linkage for damaged or missing bushings or rollers.

Just wondering.

You premix and have the vro pump hooked up as well? Could be that the oil in the premix and pump is causing the problem. Why premix and vro?

Just wondering.

Fuel side is hocked to 6 GAL premix, Oil side been disabled , I could check again to make sure things are sealed right

I checked with my trusted mechanic I discovered I set the float incorrectly , It suppose to be parallel to the body/gasket of the carburetor when i hold the carb up side down , I had them way out of alignment , So I adjusted all 3 floats ? I tested on the hose , it sounded ok .But the real test will be tomorrow at the dock ?. My question does messing with the float adjustment could explain what?s been happening..?
