By the time I got the round tuit the water was a bit hard. If I pour some anti freeze in the block, will it be OK? Should I keep the battery in so my bilage pump will still work? How can I get the cockpit cover snapped back on - it seems to have popped off the windshield.
All kidding aside - it really isn't my boat. Many of us talk about how lax some people are and leave their boats uncovered out in the sun and rain all Summer. Its hard to fathom people not taking care of their stuff, but this guy is beyond beyond.
I drive by this dock twice every day to and from work. The weather was starting to get cold and I was wondering when he was going to take it out. All of the other docks were bare. Then it snowed and I didn't see it - it has a very noticable red cockpit cover. When I came home I realized that the aft line had snapped and it turned sideways. The next day the wind came up and the water dropped, so it drifted under the dock. The water is back up and now the cuddy is impaled under the dock. Now the river is frozen out to the dropoff.
I imagine that when the ice starts to melt and shift it'll take the old girl along with it. If the USCG doesn't salvage it, the next stop will be Niagara Falls.
A pity for sure.
