Need some info on adapting a Sierra A1 marine fuel line to a Carter mechanical fuel pump

OK got a question about using a Sierra A1 flex fuel line (this is if I wind up converting from my Quadrajet to an Edelbrock in the future), this Sierra line has brass fittings that appear to be 5/8ths" but the threads in the fuel pump are 1/2". At the carb end the Sierra threads right into the fuel inlet on the Edelbrock so no problem there. I'm thinking that I need an adapter with female 5/8ths" to male 1/2" for this, correct? Brass?

One option but a little more money but would a nice-looking install is to find your local hydraulic hose shop and have them, using your hose, make up a hose with the needed fitting. We have a local family-owned shop near our factory and these guys can make anything!

they seem to use this on their carbed turn key engines...
the right angle end threads right into the Edelbrock fuel inlet, the fitting on the end for the pump is the same size but the outlet for the pump is smaller, so I think I need a fitting with a larger female end (for the larger Sierra hose fitting) and a smaller male end (that fits into the fuel pump outlet hole). Hope that makes sense.

The 5/8" threads are for 3/8" inverted flare tube nuts

The ~1/2" is 1/4 NPT

They make adapters to go from the 3/8 inverted flare to NPT and back. See your local NAPA
