I recently bought a 1997 fisher marsh hawk 180 with a mariner 60 Bigfoot. It started to bog and misfire once it warmed up so I changed the stator. I think I got the correct one..
The old one had 5 wires(2-yellows, 1-red, 1-blue, 1-black)
The new one is a quicksilver brand with 4 wires(2-yellows,1-green/white,1-white green).no black ground
I hooked the yellows together, blue to green/white, red to white/green now it turns over but will not start..
There were two options for the stator one was the stator only for 400$, the other was the stator and a skinny rectangle box for 600$I bought the stator only for 400$ do I need that rectangle box? I don't know what it even is... any help would be appreciated
