i have a 1983 16' bass tracker w/ 40 hp o/b ser#6140511 i have damaged the prop and cannont find a replacement the one that came on it is a 12.5-13 (the numbers off the current prop) i cannot find this specific prop for this motor the boat run great w/ it and would like to keep the same if possible but i donot ant to order till im sure it will be the correct fit and all also on a side note does this particular unit have a shear pin or hub , and should i replace when i change props

Rusty I show your boat weighs 505 pounds with nothing in it the motor is about 200 pounds 2 people and gear total weight about 1,300 pounds. Without the year of the motor I believe you have a 2 to 1 gear ratio and a top RPM of 5,500 RPM. The best choice for a prop is about a 13" pitch, but it is a borderline case as I believe you can run a 14" and gain about 4 MPH if you go down in Diameter 1/4 to 1/2". Here are my numbers.

if i understand this correctly i need a 12 "diam -14pitch in stead of 12.5 diam and 13 pitch

Yes, that will give you a higher speed and keep the RPM right at where they are now Rusty.
