Need to blow out my merc inboard....need help

I have a 96 bayliner with the alpha one merc inboard.....Can anyone tell me where the drain points are in the motor....it's supposed to get real cold here and I need to drain the leg also but I can't get the flat head plug out....Any great tips would be apreciated! tia HOOBS

If it's a v6 or V8, a drain plug on each side in middle, just above oil pan, plus exhaust manifolds, plus pull off large hose to engine water pump. And possibly a power steering cooler.
Poke a small screwdriver in all the holes to unclog rust/dirt.

For tight drain plugs, use a BIG screwdriver with a square shank, place a small adjustable wrench on the shank. Press it in hard on the handle & turn with the wrench.

well on m y4.3 there are BLUE drain plugs made of plasic.

At the sides of the manifolds. Follow the water cooling lines where they connect to the manifold(s) on the sides and somewhere in that area you will see the plastic pet cocks. They should really be no more then hand tight.

On the 4 cyl. there is only one or two of there since there is only 1 manifold. All these motors have them. Depending on how old they may be brass pet cocks but they should be easy to find and obvious what they are.

Ayuh,......

If you pull the Drains out of the Block,+ Manifolds,.....
Then stick a screw or wire Into them to knock out the Crud that builds up,......
Gravity will do the Job,..... No compressed air Required.......
