Need to remove double sided tape reside on top of my Humminbird SI Fishfinder

Hello and Happy New Year to all!

So I purchased a used bass tracker in fall which included a Humminbird 997c fishfinder. The previous owner had a sun visor attached to the top of it, using what seems to have been double sided tape. The visor was in bad shape so I was left with the problem of a hard sticky substance on the top of my fishfinder, on the black casing. I called Humminbird and I cannot replace the case, so now I need to figure out how to remove the tape without damaging the finish of the fish finder. I was wondering if anyone else has had to deal with this, and what you did to get it removed.

Rub it with cooking oil or peanut butter! Don't laugh,try it!

If that doesn't work you might try Goo Gone.

For years I've used WD40 to get the rsidue from price tags off the things I've bought. Never had it harm a finish.

ALSO MIGHT TRY RUBBING ALCHOHOL, HAD TO REMOVE FADED ,FLAKING WINDOW TINT OFF MY BLAZER, TOOK A RAG WETTED DOWN, WIPED WINDOW, LET SET A FEW MINUTES, AND THEN IT PEELED RIGHT OFF WITH VERY LITTLE RESIDUE THAT WIPES RIGHT UP,
