Hi all... Sorry, if this topic has been pounded but it was really hard to search vinyl repair and not have 50 pages of 'vinyl' or 'repair'. All I found that was like my issue was:

I have a few small tears on my seats. They are not very big but I'd like to nip these in the bud so they don't get any worse. Last year I bought a kit with various stuff in it, which included a tube of 'vinyl repair'. I applied it to the areas...but um... this didn't work so much. It was similar to this (and a joke):

Maybe I should try something like this? Anyone had any luck with this product?:

Suggestions (other than re-upholstering)?

--thanks!

Vamp, You can use a 1/2 round needle and stich up the tears. Alternatively, you can stich a patch over the torn ares, using the same 1/2 round needle.

yea Vamp..Permatex is very good product you could try it for 20 bucks. ( Ive seen some semi-seemless repairs done with that kit ) how long it lasts will depend on where the rip is..is it in a high use area..or ?

btw that second link for permatex repair is for snaggle tooth repairs..not rips.

Peace YD.
