Hi,
1981 Ranger 320-V Comanche with a live well. I need some help understanding the proper set up of the plumbing connections to the live well. I have labeled the attached picture with descriptions on the various components of the live well plumbing.
My boat sits pretty low in the water, and if I do not have the valve on the attached picture closed, the live well will fill up.
1. Does this set up look correct?
2. If I have to keep the valve closed to prevent the live well from filling when not needed...then it is pretty inconvenient to have to open the rear compartment and open the valve if I am "lucky enough" to catch some fish.
3. Is there a better way to connect the hoses?

Thanks for any advice you can provide.
