Anyone have good or bad to say about transom savers? My transom is solid, but the roads I drive on are rough and it gets quite a bouncing. I've seen products for hydraulic trim but I have a manual trim ('82 55hp Ev on a 16' center console boat). Problem is, my trailer aft roller is underneath the boat about 2' forward of the stern. Anyone know of a transom saver that will go horizontal for a couple feet and then up to meet the motor? Or maybe a transom saver that couples up directly with the motor and transom itself (some sort of tripod arrangement comes to mind). Thinking of making something myself if I can't find.
