Need Upper Unit for OMC

I bought a 1976 LUND boat took it out for the first time and the Upper Unit went out. I took the boat to a mechanic and I am told I need a Upper Unit or gears for a OMC GM 165hp Stringer the gear ratio is 21:19. I am either going to sell the boat as is or if I can get an Upper Unit I will fix it, then sell it. To make things worse the part is really rare. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it. We are not boat people so this is difficult.

The boat itself is in really good shape, seats 8 and the motor is in good working order other then the upper unit. The trailor is in good condition also. The boat is 17feet.
