I am troubleshooting some cooling/heating issues on a 1986 Johnson 110 HP (J110TLCDC) motor. This is a V4 Crossflow with a bubble back. In particular, I am wondering about the cooling water path to the ports which are just above the anti-cavitation plate and the holes which are just beneath the motor cowling. I have a diagram from a 1982 service manual, but there is insufficient detail and the water path ceases to be shown after the thermostats. I have an original Johnson service manual for my year motor, purchased that year, but there is no flow diagram included.

My current symptoms will be addressed in a separate thread.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

The water flow diagrams are bascially unchanged since OMC went to the dual thermostat housing in 1978. The 82 diagram should work for your engine. You should get some significant water spitting out of the exhaust relief ports at the top of the midsection at idle-once the stats open. When on plane, the thermostat pressure relief vavles open and you should get significant streams of water out of those ports.
