need wire conversion kit

I have a 1983 70hp Evinrude with control box on a 14ft Mckee. I want to swap it with a 2001 50hp Johnson and use same box. throttle, stearing and gears seem to match up but that big red plug wont fit! If anyone knows where i can get a conversion kit for the wire harness please let me know. Thanks.

Check with your local BRP/OMC dealer. They do make wiring conversion kits for this.

The part number you need is 176349 as it adapts a 1995 and older box to a 1996 and newer engine and list is $180. You can google it to see if you can find it cheaper...

Thank you both! I purchased it today from Seels in Charleston SC. $180.00 I did find it cheaper online but I felt compelled to spend the money in my local economy lol Thanks again for the info.
