need year of motor please

iI have a 65 hp mercury outboard with serial # 7039950 and was wondering if anyone could tell me the year. and also i had the boat out on the water today and ran fine for a bit and died and wouldnt turn over at all but after 30 mins or so started. took the carbs off and cleaned them and fond that the float needles were 2 different shapes. one was round and the other was square. dose that make a diference? i then discovered that the fuel line was bad. thanks for your input in advance

Thank you. if a fuel line was leaking could that make the motor idle rough? dose anyone know why the motor could of died out slowly on the water than couldnt start? when i attempted to start it it would hardle rotate till about 30 min later

i was out on the water and the motor just died out slowly and wouldnt start. thank after 30 min or so it started tan died out . gas was leaking out the carbs at this point. i later found a gas line that ws leaking. what could of caused the motor on the water to die out than woulnt even turn over till 30 mins later or so. thanks
