Need your input

New to the group - so, Hello all. I've just purchased a 1996 Galaxie with a Yamaha 5.7. I believe the lower unit is Yamaha, not the engine (that's a chevy?). It's rated at 240hp. Planning on picking it up this weekend. What should I look for and what are your thoughts on boat and/ or engine? Thanks for your input.

Congrats on the new boat purchase. Is it an I/O? I don't think I've seen a Yammie I/O.

Yes, it's an I/O - I had not seen a "Yammie" I/O as well - I really suspect it's a Chevy "I" and a Yammie "O" all put together by Yammie - ?

You Should have joined iboats Before you bought That Boat.............

The Yamahas were Only sold here for a Year or 2.......
Parts are somewhere between Hard to Find,+ Non-Existent..........

You'd better find Capt. Ken,...... He's the Only Known Parts retailer in the USA............

If I were You,........ I'd Sell it Now,+ buy a boat powered by either Mercruiser,... or Volvo.....
They're the only Currently produced drives around.......And,... Parts Can be Bought........
