best bet is to keep an eye on eBay or craigslist. Those units plus parts have been out of production for many years. If it is just a shifting issue a machine shop should be able to fix it by re facing the dogs. If you damaged it where it is trashed it is best to try and find one on eBay and maybe use parts from both units to build one. You should be able to use a 35,45 or a 55 hp lower unit.

When looking for the parts is there a year manufactured range for the 35,45 and 55 HP that are interchangeable?
