rails are usually through bolted, meaning the bolts go through the fiberglass securing the rail into some sort of backing plate below the deck. so, if you can get under the deck to secure it you might be able to add them. you probably need some straight stock and a pipe bender though.

Poor family will be starving because the kid will be blowing all his money on gear.... :)

I always see all the fitting and stock at WestMarine. I don't know where else to look.

1/ google bow rails. 2/ have them wear lifejackets. 3/ tell them not to do it. 4/ when they do it, grab them throw them overboard and move the boat away, don't let them back in for 5 minutes. they will listen next time. while they are in the water point out the gator coming after them. i never had any problems after that.

This might sound mean or silly but have you considered outfitting the kids with a harness and leash to an eyebolt near center of boat?
Kinda like a pickup box riding dog harness and leash anchored to floor of pickup box.

On the other hand that might not be too good if the boat sinks.

You might see that statement alittle differently.......

I suggested discipline and a similar approach to someone who was looking for a way to keep his kids from hanging over the boat while UNDER WAY. Good grief -- I got scolded for being cruel and you'd think the kids would never be the same for getting a swat on the backside. My suggestion in this particular case is to sign the kids up for a ballet class so they learn fancy footwork. Then strap on a good life jacket and in rough water they will know how to "two step" without falling overboard and you can save the money for the railing and not screw up the look of the boat.

Passengers are only allowed to sit in real seats when the boat is underway, in most jurisdictions.

That means they can not be on the front deck.

Not on the gunnel, the back of a seat, or a rod locker either.

They've been handing out big tickets for this offense lately.

This is true in Florida as well, while underway.

Maybe the bow rails can utilize flush mounted sockets in the deck.
That way you can pop them in when you take them out.
Sockets like flush rod holders?
