needle valve problems?

I just received my carb rebuild kits for 1977 140 crossflow and began my rebuild.upon inspection of the new needle valve and seat I noticed the needle is all metal the old needle has rubber point.The old needle also does not have the hanging clip or the slot cut into it to accept the hanger.The new needle is of the hanging clip type and came with hanger.It appears that the new one will work OK but wanted pros to confirm prior to rebuild or have I been sent the wrong kit .

It just looks like a metal tip. It's silver in color, but it's soft. The clip does a lot to prevent the needle from sticking shut. When the float drops, the clip pulls the needle along with it.
