My Dog chewed up two bottom (console area) seats in my bass boat this winter. I was looking for ideas on replacing them w/o having to spend 600+ dollars. I was thinking of buying fold down chairs and taking only the base cushion the same color as the backs and screwing them down if I can find the right dimensions. Any ideas?

was the $600 price a serious estimate, or are you just hoping to not spend any money at all? because I'm thinking you could get a pro to redo the upholstery for less than half that.

pics would help though. sorry, dogs are awesome but they can make an awesome mess! :)

[tangent] We have a 2 yr old Pitbullesque dog. She's good most of the time, and we leave her in the house with our other dog (who is good ALL the time) when we go to work. Well, she'd been getting into stuff a lot, so I'd been yelling at her a lot. She started to get scared of me, to the point that a loud noise would make her stare and me and bolt from the room. Now, mind you, I never lay hands on the dog, but she's just a little scaredy-cat...er...dog. Anyway, it got to the point where I'd make a farting noise and she'd run...then one day she was laying on me on the couch and I actually farted on her and she bolted. Well, we've come to an agreement and she isn't scared anymore...crazy dog.

use the dog as a cushion, just recover the existing seats your self.

Pull the seats out of the boat and put in that leather sofa the dog is laying on.:D:D
Seriously, either recover the seats yourself or take them to a local upholsterer. I had 2 done last summer for $250 for both.
