1998 Monarck King Viper 170DC. 1999 125 HP Merc. The button on the shift/throttle lever has to be pushed in to rev the engine on start up, but now stays in when released so when I move the gear shift to forward or reverse it will not engage the gears. I pulled the panel it is mounted to out enough to get behind it, removed the back cover and was able to push it out from the back side. I shot some Tri-Flow in there & worked it in & out, but could not actually see what the mechanical part looked like. Buttoned everything back up & it worked. 2 days later it still worked. A week later it stuck in again, but it was getting too cold to enjoy working on it. Do you think I need to replace the whole control or try to disassemble completely to see if it is still usable?
