Never assume repair

I bought a 1987 210 Chris craft over winter . Floors been done . Still had interior out but had been sitting for couple years. . Well digging into it . As in previous post the motor mount stringers are delaminated but with new wood in middle and glass patch over top . Then checking transom that’s gone but they glassed new stringers to bad transom. It was middle of winter and super cold day and I got for dirt cheap 300 bucks . Motor or outdrive worth that . I’m not complaining I’m fixing just wondering how some can leave such a big part not repairied .

I completely agree. When I took the carpet out for my restoration I stepped through the floor in 3 spots. I knew mine was repaired poorly and was expecting it though. Looking at the bright side easy tear out!

If wasn’t in winter and so darn cold I would of checked transom then . I have done a few boats but this is my first wth such unexplainable work. I am not doing a full gut just transom .

I don’t have time for full gut or area to do it. Not looking to make brand new just safe enough and obvious repairs done best I can . And maybe that’s what last guy was saying to now that I am thinking about it. Lol . New transom . Interior work , motor refresh and I’m sure much more in between
