This has to be the best place for this post although a boat is not involved.
You know when your favorite snack bag is empty - well almost...you tip it up to get the last little bit of whatever which usually has a good burst of flavor too.
I just made the mistake of doing just that...it was a bag of peppered jerky my grandson and I were sharing. The pepper became too much for him and he gave up so I got to polish it off. Mistake! Guess where all the pepper settles?
My scalp is sweating, got a buzz and suddenly it's not cold anymore!
(I'll have to remember to let him have the last little bit of the next bag!)

Re: Never, Ever do this....

Ive done stuff like that a few times.

I still dont wear Latex gloves when Im Chopping up peppers to go in to my burritos. I do this 1-2 times a week since I always keep burrito makins in the fridge.

BTW, wash once, pour some milk on your hands and rub it in then wash two more times BEFORE you go #1 after chopping anything hotter then a Jalepenio.:eek::eek:

:D sounds like that may have been in your past .

i had a bet with a buddy, while cutting meat at a local grocery store, he claimed he could eat jalapenos like candy............so i say "how about a halbenero pepper?".........and he says " no problem ".

so i go and buy a jar and he reads the label----caution 100 times hotter than jalapeno peppers---..........i have eaten them before so i go first.

i grabbed it by the stem and bit it off right there........thats right seeds and all .

so i eat mine real fast--then hold in the fact i thought i was about to sweat a gallon or 2.

tuned out hes no tough guy after all...........he turned green then white----all the while we were trying to give him milk and crackers...too late-- everything he just had for lunch became "clean up in the stock room" over the intercom.....he didnt come back to work for 2 days.

then mine set in---i drank a half gallon of milk and went to lunch to kill the rest .

now think about touching you know what with that juice on your hands.

tell you something else that burns those "tender areas" ----crest toothpaste........not a funny joke to play on your better half---unless you like to spend about a week on the couch....same affect as icy-hot only in a more tender area.

I learned the hard way, when the red jelly fish are around wear gloves when pulling the anchor then take them off and wash your hands before #1, that stuff burns for a good hour:eek:

After cutting peppers, besides avoiding #1 without proper washing, I once took out my contact lenses. Didn't seem too bad when I pulled them out quick and put them in the case. Put one in the next morning, and I thought someone lit my eyeball on fire. Good thing they were disposable contacts, because they were quickly disposed of! Check out Rob Stone on ESPN eating a really hot pepper.... makes the habanero look like a green bell pepper.

Re: Never, Ever do this....

Me & my friends at work used to bring in assorted hot foods to torture ourselves with.. Well, I made some pickles and included some habaneros in the jar to give the pickles some spice. They dared me to eat the pickled habanero and it took everything in my personal being to keep from throwing up in front of EVERYONE. It felt like the roof of my mouth was decaying.

Horrible.

Re: Never, Ever do this....

One drunken bbq night I made fajitas w/ spicy habs. in them. Later my better half and I were enjoying an intimate moment and lets just say the pepper sensation found its way to somewhere it shouldn't have . . .

While my wife was in the kitchen sink using the sprayer to try and stop the pain, I called my sister who is a nurse. She could barely stop laughing long enough to tell us to try Olive oil, which actually helped . . . :D

Re: Never, Ever do this....

Thank you for sharing that , WOODY . I now have beer all over EVERYTHING ! :D

Almost as bad as an ex GF of mine , who worked as an armed security guard .
1 night her pepper spray cannister , on her belt , managed to catch on her seatbelt , and discharged the entire contents on her backside .
Luckily she was only 5 minutes from our house .

I woke up at 3 AM to her crying and washing her very red arse in the tub .

Being the evil joker I am , I cooked stuffed red bell peppers for supper the next night . She was NOT amused .

Back on topic , I love peppers , I can even tolerate eating Habeneros .
It is the next morning that gives me regret , and my neighbors cause for alarm .

Not the mention the occasional discovery of a previously unnoticed cut ...

I usually do the same thing....Last time I had peppered jerky and after eating it all I looked in the bag and saw a some remaining shreds of beef with lots of pepper. I thought that's too much pepper, so I grabbed whatever shreds I could with my hands and called it good.

Re: Never, Ever do this....

My buddy showed me his method to polish off all the goodies left in the corner of the bag. He called it a 'fat kid trick'.

Basically when the bag is gone and all of the crumbs of the good stuff are in the bottom corner, you take your pointer finger and lick it so everything sticks. Then take that finger and swirl it in the goodness and then poke the finger through the bottom corner of the bag. You are actually suppose to lick your finger poking through the hole while your arm is still in the bag.

I peed myself when I watched him do that. Maybe because it was early in the morning and we had been taste testing some beers all night.

I wouldn't try it with peppered jerky though.

If you really like a hot pepper, buy some seeds from home depot and cross breed some scotch bonnets with habanero.

I have learned something reading this. To dispose of the bag at that point no matter how tempted.
