I am moving, so my buddy is letting me keep my boat at his place for a few months during the transition.
I checked over all the tires pre-departure. I replaced the one bad flat one with a new Greenball trailer tire. About 50 miles into the ride I noticed the front passenger tire bouncing pretty good -- 3 miles from my first destination (cook out). Went to the cookout for a bit, then took the backroads to a WalMart, where I got another tire. It didn't pop! Put about 10-15 more miles on it after this picture of the tire to get there! (30-35 MPH max)
I think it started with the fender. At some point, someone had hit something with it, so the L-bracket holding the fender was half broken. The wind and road making it bounce up and down weakened it to the point of failure. That and, previous owner attaching cargo straps to the fender causing the fender to crack/split at both top corner ends, no strength. Exacerbation!
What would a trailer trip be without having to replace a tire?
New temporary home. This cover is a "semi custom fit" from iBoats, Westland brand. I think if I didn't have the huge PVC contraption it'd be long enough, but as it is, it's a little short. I'll have to do something eventually, but it's fine as it is for now.
