i bought a totally rebuilt evinrude 1985 140 from a outboard machine shop.thats all this guy does.i know from previous posts to run 25:1 for 10hrs,dont lug it,idle for 10min before first initial run.i tried to let it idle, but it stalls under 900rpm.i can throttle it to 1000 every so often and it idles fine and planes up good.just when you put it in neut.to go into reverse it stalls.he said he backed off the timeing 2-3 degrees.is it idleing funny cause it hasent really been run yet?
