Last week in the local trade paper a fella had this listed. When I called,it was sold.I asked how it was new,and his dad had died, but in 68 he had an old 5hp Clinton,at least I think that`s what he said. His dad bought a new 3 or 3.5 Sea King, and wouldn`t use it till he wore out the old one!He never did,and the new motor has been in the box all this time.He said that the fella that bought it said it was made by Chrysler, and he could get parts. It sold for around $350.If it was a Johnson I`d loved to have bought it.I figured it may need all rubber replaced, and wondered if it may have been locked up.Quess it depends on how it was stored.Just thought I`d share this.

Re: New 3HP Sea King

I went to an auction once and there was on old 50s Elgin in flawless cosmetic condition. The owner didn't particularly like it and bought an Evinrude instead. That was also auctioned and it showed a lot of use. The Elgin went pretty cheap regardless, but it was in virtually perfect cosmetic condition. But naturally it needed work to make it run again where the Evinrude was battered but ran.
