New 4.3 shifting/accelerating problems

It'll go back to the dealer if it requires any serious fix, but the dealer is two hours away, so it's easier and cheaper to make minor repairs myself. So here's the problem.

I let the motor warm up at the dock a bit, then when I put it in gear it sometimes stalls out. It will start right up no problem, and usually just do it once...although one time it took a couple tries. Then once out on the water tooling around...mostly at idle speed. When I open it up to take off it'll stumble a bit, almost stalling out. If memory serves it did stall out once. If I slowly accelerate it goes fine right to redline...but if I try to take off quickly it stumbles around a bit. I'm thinking it's too rich, or the accel pump is pumping too much. However I can't find any adjustments for the carb. Anyone got any tips?

4.3 TKS (carb) with alpha 1. Slightly under propped, I'm working on that.

Phew, fast moving section..so bump to the top! I'd like to see if I can get things smoothed out before the weekend with the wifey.

TKS carbs usually take about 10 minutes to fully warm up. Has to do more with the enrichener circuit in the carb then it does the motor.
My best advice is leave it for the dealer. You don't want to be screwing around with something under warranty.

Yeah, the enricher doesn't seem to shut down until it's up to full operating temp. now that you mention it. The dealer noticed that it didn't idle down for a long time last time I was there...I am not a big fan of their mechanic though. I wonder if it's adjustable, the fuel mixture screw is sealed, so I won't be touching that until it's out of warranty. The salesmen said i should check around here for authorized merc mechanics, as some of them are certified to do warranty work....seems he's not a big fan of their mechanic either.

Thanks for the tip though, it never occured to me that the enrichener is staying on, thus if I am idling along the motor may not be at full temp (the water is at 8 degrees!) and when I try to open it up it's flooding out, until she's warmed up. Although the first time it started stalling out it had been warming at the dock for a good 10 or 15 minutes. Unfortunately I don't have the manual, as it's not been released yet.. :(

Wow, What happened, I thought this was a new boat, and running fine? Have the fuel filters been changed recently? it could just be that.
Anyway, have you taken off the flame arrestor, looked down the carb as you open the throttle (engine off, in forward gear) to see if the accelerator pump is squirting a good dose of fuel in there? Usually if not, it will hestate like you're experiencing. Or, maybe it's just bad gas, or water in the gas?
I'm guessing you didn't mess with the timing, slightly retarded timing would cause these symptoms also, but it rarely goes out of adjustment on these newer boats, unless tampered with. Well there's a few items to check, I hope something helps

Hehe, yeah, new boat, new headaches. Such is life. Anyhow I thought it might be a timing or carb issue. I'm going to hop into it tommorow, I'm pretty proficient with a carb, it's funny that I never thought of the enrichener till it was brought up, makes perfect sense. Certainly seems like a flooding issue. I don't think my 'dealer prep' was very good. I've already re-fastened all the guages, some loose wires, and repaired a bad ground on the brand new trailer (man the wiring on these trailers is shoddy at best). Still, the cost to get to the dealer is over $100 (gas, toll charges, food...etc) although I am pretty close to bringing her back there and telling them to call me when everything is right.
