New antena

I want to install a external on my GPS but the only place without going through the cuddy is on the top of the gunwell, next to my VHS antena, does anyone know if the stainless steel rail above it will render the reception. I'd rather not put anymore holes in the roof of the cuddy,,

i believe if you read the installation instructions, it wants some distance between antenna, and obstructions.

It may not have a dramatic effect, but it will be some level of a negitive effect. Try for a clear location.
