I thought about having new seat covers made, but it looks like it will be cheaper to just buy new seats here on iboats. Does anyone have experience with the Wise seats -- http://www.iboats.com/Wise-Deluxe-R...741537--session_id.811177269--view_id.374724? My main concern is that I often stand on my seats when fishing and wanted to know if these would be sturdy enough.

I know single seats on pedestals would be better for fishing (wouldn't have to stand on them), but we ski/tube more than we fish and the lounges are great for that.

I put new wise seats in my first Bayliner. They were as sturdy as the originals, but I would never stand on lounge seats - too easy to flip them since they are designed to fold out.

My original seats have a handle that can lock them in place so they never open at inopportune times. Too bad that won't work with the Wise seats.

I am getting ready to order some too. FYI they are a bit cheaper at ************************ and free shipping.

Thanks for trying to help mandvwagner. FYI -- iboats has a great price matching policy (including shipping). While we should all shop around for pricing, we should always try to buy here if possible to support the site that supports all of us.

Thanks, SD/NY.

Attention all loyal iboats members, as a courtesy to iboats, we would like to ask that if anyone's going to suggest a boat product of any type, please check to see if iboats has what is needed first before suggesting any outside sources. If iboats is found not to have the product listed, a suggestion of an outside source would be okay in order to still help the member find what they need.Thank you!

Could you transfer the locking mechanism to the Wise seats?

Good idea. That should work...and if I can't reuse the old mechanism, I am sure I can fabricate something that will lock it in place when needed. I guess the main thing is that they are sturdy, like Jeep said.

Buncha bungy cords.

I don't know about the Wise B-to-B seats, but all the ones I've had, you had to lift the stern-side seat cushion up a good amount to get them to open because the swing out feet brackets kind of locked in place. You can do some playing around after you get them.

If those are wise seats then they are very different from the ones I used

They are not Wise seats. Just a picture I found.

Several brands still use the U shaped legs but I do not know about the Wise seats.

There are new Wise B to B seats - http://www.iboats.com/Wise-Economy-Plus-Back-to-Back-Lounge-Boat-Seats/dm/view_id.374704

If the pic doesn't show, look at the bottom of the page,

Funny. I had no idea what brand they were. I just searched for "back to back lounge seats" in images.
